3 Simple Things to Do Everyday to Always Have a Clean Home

Most people have one day a week that they clean their house. I used to try to do this.  And usually it wouldn't get entirely cleaned because life with kids is not that simple. I sometimes wished that I could just lock my kids in a room for 3 hours and totally deep clean my house, but let's face it, that wouldn't work out so well! Both me and my kids would usually end up really grumpy from me stressing to get everything done and not giving my kids all the attention that they needed-mixed with me feeling guilty for not giving them attention. Plus, I would never really get to enjoy my "clean"  … [Read more...]

How to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night

Fact: Babies who are on a healthy sleeping schedule are happier babies! My sister in law gave me the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby" before I had my first babe, and I have been hooked ever since. (There are tons of sleep books out there and most of them are relatively similar.) Both of my children have slept through the night since they were newborns, and they have both been the happiest babies. How Moms Can Benefit from Keeping a Schedule

I have always been a planner. I look back on my years in high school and college, and my planners were filled from dawn to dusk. I loved being busy and always having a plan. Now that I am a mom, I don’t have quite so many things going on in the day. Homemade Baby Food

When I had my first baby, I made most of his baby food homemade. As I have mentioned before, I had a lot of free time during his naps. When I was pregnant with my second child, I told myself I wasn't going to have time to make homemade baby food for this baby, so I didn't even bother trying when it came time to start feeding her solid foods. However, one day I was feeding her Gerber apples. She didn't really seem to like them. I smelt them and I was disgusted! You would think that applesauce would be one of the yummiest baby foods out there! I tried a bite, and sure enough, it … [Read more...]

Is it really necessary to buy organic products?

One of my goals of this blog, is to share with others the "why" behind healthy living. I think many of us try to be healthy and buy things that we have heard are supposedly healthy, without knowing why. With so many changing trends in health (don't eat fat, don't eat egg yolks, buy sugar-free...) how do you know what is accurate? Well, this is my specialty! I LOVE research. I have to know the why behind everything before I know it's true. My husband says that I'm stubborn ;) Buying organic products can be expensive. So let's discuss, is it really necessary to eat organic food? Here is a … [Read more...]
