New Perspectives

Hi, all! So I created this blog over a year ago because I wanted to be able to make a little extra money for my family. But, in order to make money blogging, you have to be very consistent and gain a large group of followers. As you can see, I have been very inconsistent with my blog. Partially because I never found my “niche.” At first, I was going for a health blog that gave tips on eating healthy, working out, and family health.

However, my family has been going through a plethora of trials over the past few months, and to be honest, I’m tired of it all. I’m tired of getting on Facebook or Pinterest and seeing all of the great things I should be doing: all of the wholesome family recipes I should be making, the learning activities I should spend time doing with my kids each day, and the hot body I should be sporting right now.

Here’s the truth: I could count on one hand how many times I have worked out since I lost my baby; I congratulate myself when I make dinner two nights of the week (it’s really hard for me to fork up the motivation to cook for two toddlers and myself while my husband is living 7 hours away.); and I’m so burnt out of being a “single” mom I really don’t even care that my 3 year old doesn’t know how to spell magnesium–let alone his own name.

With that being said, I have decided to take a different direction with my blog. I really just love writing. I have had the most response out of articles that I have written about real things: my miscarriage, getting married young, and struggling with self-esteem. I love having the ability to help people who are struggling through similar things in life. It makes me so happy that my words can bring people any kind of comfort.

Because life is hard sometimes, and it’s so easy to feel alone when we are constantly bombarded with perfection.

I want to be real, and vulnerable, and sincere. I want to help women feel empowered. I want them to be proud of who they are. I probably won’t make as much money, and people may not even be interested in my ordinary life, but that’s okay. I am more than content just being able to help even one person feel comfort.

If I do decide to share a recipe on here, it is going to be one that is worth every minute of your time spent making it. If I  share a workout, it is going to be one that burns a whole lot of calories in the shortest amount of time possible. But mostly, I’m just going to write! Because there are a lot of other people out there who can do a much better job at the other stuff than me. So if you are interested in following along in my ordinary life and hearing all of my crazy thoughts, please join my email subscription, like my Facebook page, and follow me on Instagram! Thanks guys.

Also, does anyone have any great ideas for a new title to my blog?!
